THE Most Important Piece of Advice For Future Brides
There are so many tips, tricks, and pieces of advice thrown at you as you plan for your big day. But there is one piece of advice that I think is the most important to keep in mind throughout the entire process.
Are you ready for it? Here it is…
Make your day you.
It’s simple, I know. But it’s so important!
Purposefully include details and moments that hold treasured significance for you and your hubby-to-be.
Put a song in your ceremony that emphasizes a bit of your story.
Wear the dress, jewelry, or colors that shout your personality or that are family heirlooms.
Invite people in that have contributed to who you are as a couple.
Add reception activities that are goofy, sentimental, or family traditions.
Spend a few extra minutes with those closest to you before you walk down the aisle or right after the ceremony is over.
Pose for that goofy picture that holds an inside joke.
You can look up inspiration online but don’t copy it just because it’s “picture perfect.”
Only add something to your wedding day because it’s important to you as a couple. Not because everyone else is doing it. You will thank me later.
One of my favorite moments from our wedding day was immediately following the ceremony. Instead of greeting our guests or rushing to take photos, we hid in a small room in the church and spent 10-15 minutes together alone as husband and wife. Our first minutes together as a married couple. Nothing will ever take away the sweet memory of those moments together right after we said “I do.”
